Google posts for Google My Business!

What are google posts?

Google posts are available to all Google My Business users. You can post content that will appear in google search and map results. Google Posts can be used to highlight upcoming events, sales and offers, as well as recent news events directly on your Google My Business listing. You can also add call-to-action buttons including “Learn more,” “Reserve,” “Sign up,” “Buy” or “Get offer”.

This new feature is a great new no-cost opportunity to further promote or profile your business to online searchers and provide timely content in front of customers when they find your business listing on Google.

As quoted by Google:

“Posting on Google is a way to share relevant, fresh content with the people who are searching for you. Use images, videos and even animated GIFs to engage your audience, and add inline links to drive traffic to specific content. This enhanced format allows searchers to hear directly from the primary source — you — and complements existing results from across the web”.

Google says “this gives businesses the ability to:

·         Share daily specials or current promotions that encourage new and existing customers to take advantage of your offers.

·         Promote events and tell customers about upcoming happenings at your location.

·         Showcase your top products and highlight new arrivals.

·         Choose one of the available options to connect with your customers directly from your Google listing: give them a one-click path to make a reservation, sign up for a newsletter, learn more about the latest offers, or even buy a specific product from your website.

How to set up google posts:

You can access Google Posts in your Google My Business (GMB) dashboard. Once in your Google My Business account, click on “Posts” on the left-side menu to access this feature.

The posts section is user friendly and will guide you step-by-step. Once you have published a post, it will appear to customers on Google Search and Maps in a few moments. Just like a blog, you can edit or delete a post, and add images. It’s also easy to schedule the timing and duration of a post and you’ll even get updates on how many people see and interact with your content.

To keep content fresh and relevant to users and customers, Google posts are removed within seven days of being published with the exception of upcoming events, which are then removed after the event date.

So if you manage your own Google My Business account, why not give this feature a try today.
